Matthew 28:19–20 NKJV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

1. We are called to make disciples. (that means sharing our faith.)

I find that talk is real cheap. we can tell people that God is good, however is is better to show them that God is Good.
James 2:16 NKJV
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
what does it profit if we know about needs and do nothing to meet them? of course it dos not prophet at all.
We are blessed to be a blessing.

Has God Blessed you?

Since Coming to Jesus, has he done anything for you? Is He still doing things for you?

Ephesians 4:28 NKJV
28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

Some of you have realized that you are blessed to be a blessing.

Some of you have not realized you were called to be a giver, not merely a receiver.‌

2. Church on the Rock, Abilene is called to be a blessing to the Community.

How do we bless the Community?

‌We try to be a blessing to the Community through the things we do year-round. During the holidays, we try to do something for those who struggle during this time of year.

Here are some ministries I wanted to highlight.

The Harvest Fest.

Psalm 127:3 NKJV
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Matthew 18:10 NKJV
10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.
we do the harvest fest so that kids can be safe.
we do the harvest fest to meet the family in the neighborhood.
we do the harvest fest so the kids have a positive experience in the Church. (Remember we are the Church. Kids need to know that Church people are real people and that fun is a part of the kingdom.)

The Baskets Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Proverbs 22:9 NKJV
9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 14:21 NKJV
21 He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Deuteronomy 15:11 NKJV
11 For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’
Proverbs 28:27 NKJV
27 He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
Galatians 2:9–10 NKJV
9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

Thanksgiving/Christmas Meals

Psalm 68:6 NKJV
6 God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

3. As a part of Church on the Rock, Abilene you get to serve in all these things. The Lord wants us all to play our part.

Joshua 24:15 NKJV
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
